Hours: Approx. 39 hours per week across 4 nights (Mon–Thu)
Training: 1 or 2 week day shift induction before transition to night shift
Are you an experienced CNC Machine Operator or engineering professional looking for a fresh challenge in a precision engineering environment? We’re working with a reputable and well-established manufacturing company in the Chard area, currently expanding their night shift team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
– Operate CNC Milling machinery to produce high-tolerance components
– Set up machines and conduct basic adjustments to optimise performance (programming not required)
– Perform self-inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
– Carry out routine maintenance and ensure smooth machine operation
– Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules
Ideal Candidate Profile:
– Background in CNC operation within a precision engineering setting
– Confident with reading technical drawings and using measuring instruments
– Able to operate machines and perform quality checks with minimal supervision
– Committed to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement
– Flexible and reliable—willing to train on days before moving to nights
