Our client based in New Milton is looking for a Production Operative to join their Fabrication Department with an immediate start available.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for candidates with experience in fabrication, although full training will be provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Measuring, marking, and cutting materials to required dimensions.
• Grinding, finishing, and polishing fabricated parts.
• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality and dimensional standards.
• Using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Performing routine maintenance on fabrication equipment.
• Following health, safety, and environmental procedures, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Recording production data and reporting defects or equipment issues.
• Collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and other production staff to meet manufacturing schedules.
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, paint shop, or production preferred
• Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
• Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Able to work in a warm manufacturing environment
• Quick learner with a positive attitude
• Familiar with a wide range of hand tools
• Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
Working Hours
• Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
Pay & Overtime
• Starting rate: £12.75 per hour
• Overtime (weekdays): x1.33
• Saturday overtime: x1.5
• Sunday overtime: x2
Additional Information
Applicants with recent similar experience are preferred; however, candidates with transferable mechanical, fabrication, or assembly skills will also be considered.
