Production Operative
Location: New Milton
Pay Rate: From £12.75 per hour + overtime premiums
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm opportunity
Our client based in New Milton is looking for a Production Operative to join their Fabrication Department with an immediate start available. This is a hands-on role, ideal for candidates with experience in fabrication, although full training will be provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
•Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
•Measuring, marking, and cutting materials to required dimensions.
•Grinding, finishing, and polishing fabricated parts.
•Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality and dimensional standards.
•Using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
•Performing routine maintenance on fabrication equipment.
•Following health, safety, and environmental procedures, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
•Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Candidate Requirements
•Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, paint shop, or production preferred
•Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
•Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach
•Able to work in a warm manufacturing environment
•Quick learner with a positive attitude
•Familiar with a wide range of hand tools
Working Hours
•Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
•Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
Pay & Overtime
•Starting rate: £12.75 per hour
•Overtime (weekdays): x1.33
•Saturday overtime: x1.5
•Sunday overtime: x2
Additional Information
Applicants with recent similar experience are preferred; however, candidates with transferable mechanical, fabrication, or assembly skills will also be considered.
