We are currently recruiting for an exciting new role with one of our clients based in a rural location between Bridport and Dorchester!
As a Maintenance Coordinator/Planner you would work within a team of engineers reporting to the Engineering Manager providing the planning and scheduling of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks. This will include all appertaining tasks and procedures that align themselves with ensuring such tasks are carried out on time, with all parts and materials available as necessary. The role will also cover planning and coordinating contractors including those carrying out all statutory inspections.
In addition to the coordinating and planning role, there may be a requirement for the candidate to work alongside others to complete in house project works on a minor project basis or provide support and assistance, as required, to the Site project team.
It is required that, the job holder will be flexible in their approach to working but will be required to fulfill the hours of 8:00 – 17:00 encompassing a 30 minute lunch break Monday to Friday.
Main tasks of a Maintenance Coordinator/Planner would involve:

  • Maintaining a comprehensive Asset Care/Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor, plan and co-ordinate the engineering activities with particular reference to cost control, manpower requirements, allocation of planned & preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Purchasing, progress chasing of raised orders and Goods Receipting of spares and materials.
  • Working with and along side our Production Planners, schedule maintenance work into production plans.
  • Co-Ordinating plant shutdowns to attain all essential Maintenance schedules.
  • Carrying out all inventory management tasks such as, ordering of critical spares/parts and materials, frequent perpetual inventory checks, Goods receipting of received spares, re-stocking of parts, working with the engineers to determine correct stock levels of engineering spares and end of year stock check.
  • Providing assistance to engineering for spare parts preparation and PM lists for new equipment.
  • Following site contractor control procedures, for the management of visiting contractors
  • Supporting proactively all EH&S Procedures and Policies.
  • Management of departmental staff administrative duties, working under the aegis of the engineering manager. Including: administration of the departmental TMS system, staff holiday and time off in lieu (TOIL) management.
  • Managing the technical archive in liaison with the engineering management team and transfer this to pdf format with document number and index system allow access from a pc, whilst taking care to preserve document control.
  • Corrective action management following Statutory Inspections, external service inspections and follow on tasks from sites engineering team PPM activities.
  • To take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
