This isn’t just a picking and packing role — it’s a critical, hands-on position at the centre of our client’s logistics function.
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven Logistics Operative to join our client’s Despatch team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you’ll take ownership of the full despatch process — from physically preparing goods to producing controlled documentation that meets stringent regulatory standards.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
This is a fast-paced, operational role where you’ll be actively involved on the warehouse floor and behind the systems:
– Physically picking, packing, checking and dispatching finished goods to customer requirements.
– Generating and controlling despatch documentation, including: Packing slips; Customs invoices ; Certificates of Conformity; Authorised Release Certificates (Form 1s).
– Ensuring all paperwork meets internal standards and relevant regulations.
– Providing clear import/export clearance instructions and liaising directly with freight forwarders.
– Recording all stock movements accurately within the ERP system.
– Carrying out cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
– Identifying and quarantining non-conforming or expired product.
– Working strictly in line with Health & Safety and quality procedures.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, detail-focused, and accountable for getting it right.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
– Proven experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
– Strong understanding of stock control, inventory management, picking, packing and despatch.
– Experience using MRP/ERP systems for receipts, moves, issues and despatch
Experience working with freight forwarders and customs processes.
– High numeracy, accuracy and strong attention to detail.
– Knowledge of safe goods movement and general H&S practices.
Desirable:
– Authorisation to release Certificates of Conformity and controlled documentation (EASA/FAA/CAA).
– Knowledge of export licensing controls and ITAR.
– Awareness of AS/ISO quality systems.
– Experience managing Excel-based order books or work-to lists.
– Cycle counting/perpetual inventory experience.
– Forklift licence.
