Our client, a global engineering company, is seeking an experienced Inspection / Test Technician to join their Production team.
Your duties will include:
Inspection and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and cable assemblies for MoD and commercial projects.
To provide test / product support for production activities, to include initial commissioning, test and fault finding to component level.
Carry out condition surveys on returned equipment, inspection and test of sub-assemblies to relevant drawings / test specifications, including PCB’s and completed products; recording and maintaining records where necessary.
Raise internal reject reports, ensuring that any rectification action required is carried out in accordance with workmanship standards/practices.
Maintain QA records including calibration of test equipment.
Liaison with other departments on production matters.
Working on customers premises/facilities as and when required in connection with any of the above activities.
Maintain the records of in-house electrical PAT testing.
Assist in the Goods Inward Inspection Department as required.
You will need:
Previous experience in a similar role.
A recognised qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with Mechanical Engineering knowledge together with a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
Knowledge of MoD wiring standards including hand soldering, crimping and looming.
The ability to work from Engineering drawings and documentation and to communicate orally and in writing on technical topics is essential.
Must be able to prioritise tasks with the ability to define and solve problems both technical and quality related.
This position will require security clearance and possible travel (UK & abroad) in support of equipment.
Based in Poole with salary £DoE, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension and free parking.
