Mploy are seeking an experienced Head of Technical within the Food and FMCG sector to lead our technical strategy, quality, compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the business.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership of the technical function, overseeing budgets, resources, technology adoption, product development, and manufacturing standards. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support business growth and ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver the long-term technical strategy.
• Lead and develop the technical team, including succession planning, training, and performance management.
• Oversee quality, safety, GMP, regulatory compliance, testing, audits, and technical documentation.
• Manage non-conformances, risk, supplier/contractor approvals, and corrective actions.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and new technology adoption.
• Champion sustainability, ethical sourcing, and environmental improvement.
• Support customer satisfaction, market expansion, and cross-functional business objectives.
• Represent the company with customers, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
About You
• Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, GMP, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing standards.
• Experience leading teams and managing budgets, resources, suppliers, and contractors.
• Strong understanding of risk management, auditing, testing, and non-conformance.
• Proven track record in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strategic, commercially aware, and hands-on approach to problem solving.
