Due to an increase in business levels our client, an international boat building company, is looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to work as part of their Procurement team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for the supply of procured parts, services and assemblies, working within a team environment assuring meeting quality, value for money and build targets.
Your duties will include:
Managing assigned categories, suppliers, and purchases to meet the business needs.
Ensuring that all deliveries are made to the agreed deadlines.
Liaise with suppliers, organise delivery schedules and ensuring accurate lead times.
Carry out regular and appropriate supplier reviews to ensure that the performance and quality of service and goods are met.
Purchase parts demonstrating value for money without affecting either the quality of the goods or delivery deadlines.
Creating and maintaining long-term supplier contracts and single source contracts.
Responsible for managing the suppliers to the contracts or T&C’s agreed.
You will need:
Previous purchasing experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualified or working towards MCIPS qualification.
Possess a strong teamwork ethic and can do attitude.
Intermediate Excel skills plus good understanding of other Microsoft packages and SAP.
Working in Poole Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with salary DoE, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays and excellent benefits package.
