Due to company growth our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their rapidly growing team who pride themselves in being innovative and challenge the status quo supporting the development of products and growth of the business.
This is a high-level role within the company requiring a combination of technical excellence and innovation to lead a mechanical engineering team to deliver holistic product designs from concept to manufacture, on time and to budget.
This will include:
Drawing on your experience to deliver creative solutions for electronics packaging of products, ensuring designs meet the required standards of quality, reliability, cost and design for manufacture.
Support other staff members by holding technical reviews and providing a broad range of technical expertise.
Solve difficult engineering problems by drawing on a range of resources to deliver technical solutions.
Support new opportunities by preparing project proposals and input into project plans.
Participate in meetings and design reviews with team members and customers, communicating ideas and engineering concepts to all disciplines.
Arranging prototyping and testing activities.
You will need:
A degree qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Technical experience in electronics packaging of sensors or instrumentation.
Strong capabilities in aspects such as analysis and optimisation, thermal systems, materials selection, design for manufacture & assembly & prototyping methods.
CAD skills required; Solidworks preferred.
Engineering team leadership experience.
Experience of working with customers and delivering excellent work on time and to budget.
Proven commitment to continual development of skills and technical knowledge.
Highly motivated with a very strong personal drive and enthusiasm to overcome engineering challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Understanding of engineering principles.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
The ability to multi task effectively.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Good team player.
Security Cleared or able to become security cleared.
Based in Lymington working 37.50 hours Monday to Friday with salary £DoE plus benefits package and free parking available.
