As part of their development strategy our client, an international engineering company, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager who has successfully implemented, trained and managed high performing technical support teams and that has delivered a proactive, value-adding support to production and design functions.

Initially a 9 month contract this is an exciting opportunity to join the company for the transitional period, which could lead to a full time appointment.

Your remit would include:
Act as Technical Engineering Lead for multi-disciplined Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Test, Facilities and Project Engineering teams, consisting of 18 Engineers and Technicians, across two divisions.
Support the Design and Manufacturing functions to develop an integrated value proposition.
Review and develop the team competence and structure to support the present, transition and growth requirements across the company.
Developing and execute company transition / expansion plans.
Develop and implement strategic plan identifying technical skills, succession, system, capex, and facilities requirements.
Provide guidance, advice, training, and practical assistance through the functions.
Strong working knowledge of NPI, LEAN, Kaizen, QMS, ISO 9000:2015, 14001.
Play a leading role identifying productivity improvement opportunities.
Facilities, security and equipment – ensure buildings and equipment are supported by TPM programs and compliant to EHS regulations.
Develop function reporting metrics and KPIs, examples, First Time Test Yields, RMA TAT, Project delivery OTD, OEE, budget/project compliance.

The position will require:
Relevant degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Engineering or Management.
At least five years’ experience as an Engineering Manager, from a manufacturing industry, preferably light engineering / electro-mechanical / electronics.
Track record of experience implementing changes and managing teams towards high performance.
Possess problem solving and diagnostic skills.
Effective communicator able to engage throughout a multi-functional operation.
Well organised, disciplined, methodical, and able to prioritise.
Ability to achieve results in a fast moving, technological environment.
PC literate, fluent with MS Office, Project, and ERP System.

Based in Lymington with salary £DoE, pro rata 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, benefits package and free parking available.
