Our client, a global engineering company, is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to undertake manual turning plus supervise a small machine shop team.
Your duties will include:
Manual turning (70% of the role) of small precision components.
Production of small batch work (10 to 50).
Working to fine tolerances and deadlines.
Working on new and established products.
Production of aerospace documentation.
Day to day supervisory leadership of team of five.
This includes local responsibility for EH&S, 6S, Lean, equipment maintenance plus small materials stores.
You will need:
Previous manual turning of small components experience.
HNC in Mechanical Engineering or completed relevant apprenticeship.
Tool room machinist experience.
Working Knowledge of standard machine shop processes, Grinding, Deburring, Milling, presswork, 2nd ops etc.
Ability to read technical drawings and specification documents.
Previous supervisory background.
Small batch work experience.
The ability to solve problems is essential and use this to seek solutions to machining challenges.
Based on the Bournemouth Airport Business Park, working Monday to Thursday 7.15 / 7.45 a.m. to 3.45 / 4.15 p.m. and Friday 7.15 / 7.45 a.m. to 12.15 / 12.45 p.m. (37 hours) with salary DoE plus benefits package including 25 days holiday and bank holidays, life assurance, bonus scheme, pension and free parking.
