Our client, a major production company, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to manage the planning and delivery of safe and efficient warehouse and logistics operations.
You will be:
Covering inbound transport from Europe and Asia, inventory control, supply of materials to production teams, dispatch, outbound transport to customers and waste management.
Leading projects to design and implement new routes, processes, systems to support new opportunities and business strategy.
Working closely with other department managers to ensure efficient day to day operations as well as continuous improvement.
Reporting of KPIs to other business functions and senior management.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and Company procedures.
Continuous Improvement of internal processes to improve safety, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Your duties will include:
Plan and manage logistics and transport of raw materials and finished products. Looking for the direct/lowest cost options whilst providing high customer service level.
Deliver all orders to customers in a controlled manner, on time and within budget. Ensuring all delivery paperwork and data is accurately completed and submitted to the relevant systems.
To accurately process data through the businesses IT systems & collaborate with a broad cross section of stakeholders to ensure a smooth daily transport plan.
Plan and source relevant transport equipment (pallets, trolleys, dollies etc) for other departments to assist with packing orders.
Monitoring transport providers performance and non-conformance, resolving any issues and making the appropriate claims and escalations when required.
Support the warehouse team leader in planning and delivering safe and efficient warehouse operations including inventory control and movement around the site.
Work with the supply chain team to plan warehouse utilisation, ensuring that the capacity is used effectively and efficiently.
Maintain excellent inventory accuracy, coordinating stock take activities.
Manage waste streams and continue to minimise waste to landfill.
You will need:
Previous logistics management experience within a fast-paced production / manufacturing environment.
Experience of working with external transport providers.
Degree-level educated or equivalent, ideally in business administration, supply chain or relevant field.
Computer skills with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Based in New Milton (with some visits to customers), working Monday to Friday 7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. with salary DoE, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays; Cash-Back Health Scheme, Pension, Car Parking on site; Free Tea and Coffee, Cycle to Work Scheme and Staff Social Events.
