Due to company growth our client is looking to recruit a Buyer to work as part of their Automotive team.
Your role will be to source new products and review existing items to ensure products remain competitive. By fully understanding customer needs you will be able to maximise profits and provide a commercially viable range of products at competitive prices. Keeping up to date with market trends and reacting to changes in demand are key elements of the role.
Your duties will include:
Identify, source and deliver both individual new products and new product ranges.
Identify new manufacturing opportunities and supply chain improvements. This will require some global travel to visit factories, customers and trade fairs.
Ensuring the ongoing requirements of the business regarding; item and range quality, cost price, sales benefits and features, item profitability and stock availability are met.
Input into writing technical manuals and the design of product packaging and proofing of marketing and sales materials.
Liaise with both internal departments and an extensive external global supplier base.
You will be:
From an Automotive background (buyer / technician / engineer) or have a healthy practical interest in vehicle mechanics. This would ideally be from the car motor trade, motorcycle, HGV / commercial, agricultural or plant and machinery industries.
Experience of working in a similar role.
Hold an automotive technical qualification/apprenticeship.
CIPS qualifications advantageous.
Excellent, proven negotiation skills.
Methodical and organised.
Good IT skills, proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of programmes.
Flexible manner and team player.
Based in Eastleigh with excellent working environment with salary DoE, working Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with an hour for lunch, 22 days holiday rising to 25 after five years plus bank holidays, private health care cover after 3 years’ service, pension, subsidised canteen and free on-site parking.
