Due to an increase in business levels our client, an international boat building company, is looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to work as part of their Procurement team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager your duties will include:
Managing procurement of engineering and metal fabrications.
Ensuring that all deliveries are made to the agreed deadlines.
To liaise with suppliers, organise delivery schedules and ensuring accurate lead times.
Carry out regular and appropriate supplier reviews to ensure that performance and quality of service and goods met.
Purchase parts demonstrating value for money without affecting either the quality of the goods or delivery deadlines.
Creating and maintaining long-term supplier contracts and single source contracts.
Responsible for managing the suppliers to the contracts or T&C’s agreed.
You will need:
To be qualified or working towards a MCIPS qualification or holding good purchasing experience within engineering environment.
Have previous work experience in a fast turnaround business with challenging and often changing deadlines.
Possess a strong teamwork ethic with a “Can do” attitude towards your work.
Have Intermediate Excel skills with a good understanding of other Microsoft office packages.
