Job Purpose:

The role involves shooting and editing a wide range of videos from product promotions to ‘how to guide.’ This often involves working alongside a variety of exciting brand ambassadors including makers and athletes and on occasion, attending sponsored events and shows capturing both video and photos. Creating exciting and informative content for multiple brands across all aspects of DIY, woodwork, gardening, automotive and workwear and shoots take place at our own in-house studio workshop, across the UK and beyond.

The role supports the expansion and development of multiple YouTube channels which currently have in excess of 175,000 subscribers and millions of views. The Assistant Videographer will have not only creative flair but be able to use their knowledge of the different social media formats and styles.

Working as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment, the ability to be flexible is a must. The role is very dynamic and offers the chance to develop all aspects of production due to the varied nature and subject matter.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Filming and Editing – Utilising our in-house studio equipment to produce ‘how to guides’, product promotions and social content for the marketing team that meet or exceed the brief
  • Production Planning – Supports the planning of shoots and contributes creative ideas for content across all brands.
  • Channel Content –Assists with the management and upkeep of all YouTube channels, including creating engaging thumbnails, responding to comments, and monitoring analytics and trends to help guide content creation.
  • Studio Assistance– Collaborates with colleagues in the studio with photographic production, general asset management including the stock library and file management and ensuring the servers are maintained & footage backed up.
  • Equipment Maintenance –Ensures the current equipment is taken care of and correctly maintained, using awareness of the latest technology to help improve production values.

Required Skills:

  • Relevant Degree or 1 year of professional experience
  • Experience of DSLR Shooting
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro and After Effects)
  • Experience of working on more than one projects
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Understanding and experience of taking an idea from brief all the way to completion
  • Successful experience of working behind the camera as well as setting up a scene with both lighting and sound.
  • Experience of working with or an understanding of the importance of brand guidelines
