My client in Yeovil is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is the perfect opportunity to grow and develop skills through helping to source, develop, buy and deliver a range of tools at the right cost.

The job duties involve:

  • New Product set up on an ongoing basis
  • Maintenance of product specifications
  • Analysis of existing data and systems, updating information and accuracy of existing data
  • General support to the buyer
  • Maintenance of vendors in the global supplier directory
  • Managing the buyers expenses and liaise the planning and booking of their trips and travel itinerary
  • Ensure quality control reports and any customer related quality control issues are regularly and effectively managed
  • Proactively drive product consistency and continuous improvement
  • Build product landscapes by product area that are maintained regularly
  • Identify and manage vendor performance
  • Spares maintenance and set up
  • Ensure that all certification is available for all products
  • Attendance of trade shows and presentations

Qualities of the ideal candidate:

  • Must have a keen interest in the use of tools and the technical specifications
  • Strong understanding of a commercial environment
  • Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem solving skills are required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong Excel skills with V-Look Up and pivot tables a minimum requirement
